Dali’s “Foreigners’ Street,” officially known as Huguo Road, is located within Dali’s Old Town. Running east to west, it is approximately 1,000 meters long and 7 meters wide, with a bluestone-paved surface. It earned its name because the Hongshancha Hotel was originally located here, making it a gathering place for foreign tourists. Today, it is a commercial street within the ancient city teeming with Chinese and Western restaurants, cafes, bars, tie-dye shops, and silver jewelry stores. It is open to the public free of charge all day, but is liveliest from late afternoon through the evening.
