Because a small river winds through the village, it was renamed “Heshun,” later taking on the meaning of “harmony among scholars and the people.” Generations of Hesun residents traveled as part of caravans and ran trading houses, leaving behind many legendary stories. Today, historical buildings such as the former residence of Ai Siqi, the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall, Wanlouzi, and the Hesun Library still stand.

The Jiegao International Border Crossing between China and Myanmar is Yunnan’s leading border trade port and serves as China’s land route for trade with Myanmar. One of the busiest areas; across the border lies Myanmar*Town. The Jiagao Port consists of three imposing structures built along the border: the main gate in the center, the cargo passage on the right, and the passenger passage on the left. The name, derived from the Dai language, means “old city,” and it is the largest border trade port in Yunnan Province, China.

The Chinese side is called Yinjing, while the Myanmar side is called Mangxiu, creating the unique sight of “one village belonging to two countries.”
The Yunnan Longjiang Bridge is supported by a single 1,950-meter main cable, flanked by two 338-strand cables. It resembles a giant dragon raising its head toward the heavens, soaring through the clouds and mist as it leaps over steep cliffs and cuts through the ethereal clouds.
